A one-of-a-kind video capture experience created a focal point for Cartier's Panthère Studio NYC event.

Fake Love created a one-of-a-kind video capture experience for Cartier's Panthère Studio NYC event to celebrate the relaunch of the iconic Panthère watch. Bringing together digital fabrication, generative computer graphics, and animated lighting, the result was a mesmerizing, immersive kaleidoscope of gold.

As part of a small, nimble team, I acted as Technical Director, Lighting Designer, and Digital Artist. As Technical Director, I managed the video capture, fabrication, and LED integration vendors. Additionally, I created the responsive, generative video and designed and programmed the lighting animations.

The installation took the form of a black enclosure, lined with spiraling gold panels and lines of animated lights. An 85" screen displaying watch-link inspired animation was reflected on every panel. Sensors detected the guest stepping into the experience, which triggered dynamic, real-time video animation as well as lighting patterns. Guests used an all-in-one video booth that automatically edited the footage and emailed it to the guests.
