The Think Gallery is an immersive video installation highlighting cutting-edge research for IBM’s Think conference.

In 2018, IBM merged all their top conferences and reimagined their thought leadership into one flagship conference: IBM Think. Within the conference the Think Gallery was an immersive installation that highlighted six research teams and their work across an array of topics, including chip manufacturing, AI, and ecosystem monitoring. This installation served the 40,000 conference attendees as an area to contemplate their role in solving global challenges alongside IBM.

As Design Director for the project I developed the concept for the project and led a team of internal designers, external content producers, and event production agencies through production and installation.

To develop the six stories, we interviewed IBM’s researchers, taking a deep dive into their work, and distilling it into new original content. Each of the stories was told through a mix of original footage, stock content, the researchers’ existing images, as well as original motion graphics and data visualizations. This visual storytelling was formatted for a unique 360 immersive space and combined with narration for a museum-like experience.
